Synopsis:
Cook (chemistry, U. of Sheffield, UK) complains that too many works presenting
non- relativistic quantum mechanics arbitrarily uses probability theory that
is out of step with modern probability theory, is cluttered with concepts
left over from discredited positivistic philosophy, and fails to accurately
account for the development of Schrödinger's mechanics from classical
mechanics. He aims to correct those perceived failings in his explication,
relying on a mechanistic mode of explanation and the application of the
solutions of spatial differential equations to interpretations of
Schrödinger's mechanics.
