Backlash! is the creation of Rod Van Mechelen, an early web pioneer in Genderwar and cultural criticism. Spanning 1994-2007, with an emphasis on earlier material from 1994-1999, The Backlash! was an early MRA web presence that was one of the few half dozen sites of its kind when it first appeared back in the days of the Mosaic NCSC Browser. Rod Van Mechelen, born in Seattle, currently resides in Olympia, and is an enrolled member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe whose home territory resides in southwest Washington State, between Mount Rainier and Portland, Oregon.
