I remember listening a Morian song called Firewalkers some time ago, but back then it didn't caught my ear like it should have. It wasn't until I heard the single selection Away From The Sun that literally hit me in the head with it's amazing atmosphere. Naturally, after that kind of effect, the expectations for the full-length were pretty high.

But, there's no need to worry about any disappointments because Morian's debut album is a wonderful showcase of how Gothic Rock/metal is supposed to be played. Firewalkers sets the tone for the rest of the album with it's catchy melodies and the perfect blend of rock n' metal elements. What The Legion Of Two loses in its guitar-less verses, it surely takes it back in its sweet chorus. The level drops a bit when going towards the end of the album, but the quality stays still on very high levels thanks to the songs like Flak Jacket and pretty heavy & modern Recoil, which also brings Pain Of Salvation's newer material to mind.

With Sentinels Of The Sun, Morian will definitely turn some heads and conquer especially the hearts of the young. Despite the modern approach, also the older rock-cocks will found this listenable because of the high-class song writing and the catchy melodies. You can't found a single bad or even mediocre chorus from this album. If a mixture of cheerier versions of Sentenced and rock-era Amorphis sound good to you, you'll most likely enjoy Morian as well.
